At Guerra Plastic Surgery Center we offer multiple breast implant options for our patients. All current breast implants in the market today have a silicone shell on the outside. Breast implants can be made of silicone or saline on the inside. Silicone breast implants hold medical grade cohesive silicone gel within the shell. Saline breast implants can be filled with a salt water solution (saline) within the shell. All of our breast implants come in various shapes, sizes, and shell textures. Dr. Aldo Guerra uses top quality breast implants from Mentor which are the only breast implants that are made in the United States. Over the years our patients have the peace of mind that we have chosen top quality breast implants for their Arizona breast augmentation surgery.
Most of our breast augmentation patients at Guerra Plastic Surgery Center choose silicone breast implants. Only a small percentage choose the older saline breast implants. All of our breast implants are FDA approved so you can’t go wrong with silicone or saline breast implant but you should do your due diligence and learn about each type of breast implant so you can choose the most appropriate implant for you. For breast implants to feel as natural as possible, they must be relatively soft. Silicone breast implants are much softer than saline breast implants. The softest silicone breast implants we offer are the MemoryGel breast implants and the MemoryGel Xtra breast implants both are very popular. Patients that are interested in a little more firmer silicone breast implant can consider the teardrop MemoryShape breast implant which gives patients a very natural looking results. Finally, patients that want the most firm implant can consider the saline breast implant.
In our practice we offer breast augmentation surgery patients both round breast implants and teardrop breast implants. When considering to get breast augmentation surgery part of the process involves consider whether your breast implants have a smooth outer shell or a textured outer shell. Those are the only two options available today for our breast implants. In general, most of our patients are choosing the smooth outer shell for their breast augmentation but at the consultation with Dr. Aldo each patient can discuss with him both options. Ultimately, each patient will have to consider which outer shell they wish to proceed with.
We have the most advanced breast implants in the market today than ever. The newest silicone breast implants have low complication rates and Mentor is always striving to improve the technology to give patients the most breast implant options. In addition, they offer the leading breast implant warranty in our opinion to help with a rupture.
If your silicone breast implant ruptures, you may not notice any changes at any time because the medical grade silicone gel is cohesive and made to stick together instead of leaking out. There is currently no evidence that leaking silicone breast implant gel from a rupture causes serious, long-term health problems. A ruptured silicone breast implant may eventually cause breast pain or changes in the shape and look of the breast. If this happens, breast surgery to remove and replace the ruptured breast implant will be required. Guerra Plastic Surgery Center is proud to use Mentor breast implant and they have always taken great care of our patients by providing a great warranty that has excellent coverage for ruptures. Call us at (480) 382-4995 or contact us online to find out more about the Mentor Promise Warranty.
The FDA (Food and Drug Administration) recommends monitoring silicone breast implants with routine MRI scans every two years, starting three years after the initial breast augmentation surgery. An MRI scan may detect a breast implant rupture when there are no signs or symptoms so patients should consider following their recommendations.
If your saline breast implant ruptures, the breast implant will immediately deflate and cause the breast to change in size and shape. The leaking saline solution in your breast implant will be absorbed by your body without posing health risks. Breast surgery will be required to remove the silicone shell at some point in the future. When it’s time to replace the ruptured implant patients can choose a new set of implants either the same saline breast implants or change to the newer silicone breast implants.
