Wrinkles and sagging skin on the cheeks, jawline, and neck area often accompany the wisdom and experience that comes with maturity. A surgical facelift and necklift in Scottsdale is among the most effective aesthetic treatments for reversing an aged face. When performed conservatively, it can truly rejuvenate your appearance and restore a positive self-image. Dr. Scott Ogley at Guerra Plastic Surgery Center provides a natural looking facelift and necklift customized to each individual patient.
Age, hormones, stress, and the elements contribute to the development of wrinkles and sagging skin on the cheeks, jawline, and neck. A surgical facelift or rhytidectomy reverses these physical signs of aging by literally raising the skin and trimming the excess along the edges. This popular procedure tightens deep facial tissues, raises the cheeks to their ideal prominence, and removes hanging jowls to restore a fresh and youthful appearance.
A neck lift corrects sagging neck skin commonly known as a “turkey neck.” This facial contouring procedure creates a chiseled and smoother-looking jawline by trimming away lax and sagging tissue beneath the chin. Facelift and necklift are typically performed as a joint procedure to address all the commonly aged areas of the face.
You might be surprised to learn that more than 230,000 people rejuvenate their faces and erase years from their appearance with a facelift each year. This effective procedure offers you a wide range of benefits, including:
This treatment is ideal for men and women who desire to achieve a dramatic facial rejuvenation. A good candidate for a facelift and necklift should meet these general requirements:
A rhytidectomy (facelift) and necklift is a highly personalized surgical procedure intended to enhance – not change – the unique features of your face. As your physical and emotional comfort is our priority, you will receive the proper anesthetic before undergoing treatment. Guerra Plastic Surgery Center specializes in the following facelift and necklift techniques:
The traditional facelift is the most comprehensive approach to address aging from the forehead down to the neck, including all areas in between. If you are nearing or in your golden years and opt for a full facelift, this will allow you to age gracefully and enjoy an elegant appearance for years to come. The traditional facelift allows for safe fat redistribution, removal of excess skin, and muscle repositioning to provide the most long-lasting results.
The use of skin-friendly, medical-grade sutures will seal your incisions. These sutures are barely noticeable to the naked eye, and scarring will be minimal after surgery.
Our Scottsdale plastic surgeon believes that the desirable approach to a facelift procedure is one that retains the face’s natural beauty. During surgery, Dr. Scott Ogley and his surgical team will focus on the natural folds and contours of your face to ensure the most natural results possible.

In preparing for a facelift and necklift in the Phoenix-Metro area, your doctor will strictly follow the protocols of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and suggest that you:
You will be sent to a recovery center after your facelift and necklift for the first day after surgery. This is a safety precaution in the rare event that a complication arises following surgery. And, realistically, having someone reliable to help you makes the first few days of recovery much easier. They can make sure you are taking your medications as prescribed and eating nutritious meals to boost the healing process.
Expect many sensations as your face and/or neck heal, with tightness being the most notable. Bruising, swelling, tenderness, and numbness are also generally present. These temporary side effects will begin to fade within days after your surgery, with full resolution in about 2 to 4 weeks. Patients usually take up to 14 days off from work and cease strenuous activities for 3 to 4 weeks.
Dr. Ogley believes that a tailored approach is the desired route for natural-looking facelift and necklift results. Each patient is different, and therefore, each one has particular needs and desires. It is his unwavering dedication to thoroughness and painstaking attention to detail that establishes confidence in our clients.
Dr. Ogley is AMAZING!! As a dermatology PA and cosmetic injector myself, I am extremely particular. Like many patients, I desire to maintain a youthful, yet natural, appearance. Dr. Ogley has an impressive eye for symmetry, and an extremely professional yet warm, approachable bedside manner. He was incredibly knowledgeable on all of the treatment options available, and was honest about the procedures that would not be the right fit for my goals. His office was beautiful and clean, the staff efficient and friendly, and the entire experience was outstanding. I will be going back to Dr. Ogley for all my future cosmetic needs!
Swelling often peaks by the second week of the recovery process, but it can take weeks to months to fully resolve. Furthermore, expect numbness to persist for up to 6 months, with the feeling returning to your face over time.
How soon you feel comfortable going to a reunion or wedding is highly personal. That said, it’s crucial to know that, for many patients, the “social recovery” time following facelift surgery can take between 6 weeks to 2 months.
You will still look like yourself, but 10 to 15 years younger. Our facelifts and necklifts at Guerra Plastic Surgery Center lift and add volume to the face in order to achieve balanced results without over-tightening or overstretching the skin.
If you’ve undergone a rhytidectomy in the past, you need a procedure called a revision facelift. Facial surgery cannot stop aging; it only resets it. A revision procedure can help you keep pace with aging as it continues to occur.
